I have told my story here before in EBay, and for not wanting to sound repetitive I hope you have seen it in length before. A brief history: I met David when I was about 12 years old. My sister and her then boyfriend took me to my first show. Her boyfriend, unbeknownst to me was able to get us back stage. I was quite star struck when meeting David, as I managed to swallow a lump in my throat and get out of my mouth, β Hello Mr. Bowie.β He smiled and looked around the room and said, β Is my father in the room?β He smiled again at me and said , β Call me David My Dear.β It was a moment in time I will never forget . I can hear his voice to this day saying , β My Dear.β He addressed most people that way.
I was then lucky enough to go backstage every time he was in. My hometown for a concert. Sometimes it was for a fleeting moment at large venues. Springfield Civic Center, Sullivan Stadium, (now Gillette stadium), Boston Garden, Great Woods Amphitheater, Tweeter Center. And some smaller more personal venues like The Boston Music Hall, The Orpheum Theatre, The Avalon.....Those were the ultimate special times.
Time seemed to stand still for me in his presence and I floated on air for weeks after β€οΈ. I would bring my albums and photos and items for him to sign. He never complained I had brought him to any things. Sometimes he would have special pictures to give to me. He was always happy to sign for me and EVERYONE that he met. He was always so obliging with a smile on his face. So I have a vast collection.
He watched me grow over the years as I watched him morph into his different characters. When Blackstar was talked about I was so happy ! He was gone for so long I thought he was going to tour again. No one knew he was sick. He was a humble man. I ALWAYS thought I would see him again. Sadly that wonβt happen until I see him in Heaven some day. I have SO MANY SIGNED ITEMS, Iβve decided to sell a few and share MY good fortune with others. Which is why my prices are reasonable, not ridiculous. I have already sold a few photos and things on Ebays before and my buyers were thrilled. They sent me pictures of their items framed. I think everyone should be able to afford something he signed, and I hope David sees it the same way. What good are all these tucked safely in a box in my closet ? They should be shown and enjoyed. I have two beautiful signed self portraits he gave me, and I will never part with them and will pass onto my children. They each love his music through me.
I DID NOT SEE MICK JAGGER SIGN THIS. IT WAS GIVEN TO ME BY DAVID AS A LOT IF MY ITEMS WERE β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
