    WELCOME TO MY STORE
Ceylon Cloves Tree Seeds Syzygium Aromaticum for planting 20 dried Seeds Rare
    Description of the Plant:
Cloves are the aromatic flower buds of a tree in the family Myrtaceae, Syzygium aromaticum. The clove tree is a medium sized symmetrically shaped tree with smooth gray bark canopy and has a cone shape. Fully matured trees grow up to 15 -20m. However, there are trees that produce bigger size clove buds which are called “Bothal Karabu” (bottled shape cloves).
Clove is largely used as dried whole buds. Ground clove is used for curry mixtures and clove oil is used for flavoring foods and in the pharmaceutical perfumery industry.  Clove oil either can be colorless or yellow. If exposed to sunlight it may turn dark color. Cloves are used either whole or ground to provide flavor for both sweet and savory foods in pickling and the production of sauces and ketchups. In medicine it is valued as a carminative, aromatic and stimulant. It is being used in the cigarette industry as a flavoring agent. Clove oil is used in perfumes, in dentistry and a clearing agent

    Growing Tips:
    Soil
Clove thrives well in a variety of soils. Deep and rich loams with high humus content are best suited for the crop. It also grows satisfactorily on laterite soils. Pure sandy soil is unsuitable for this crop. Clove does not tolerate water logging and therefore land selected for this crop should be well drained.
    Planting material
Clove is propagated through seeds. Tree ripe fruits should be sown immediately since the viability of seeds is rapidly lost within 48 hours of collection. Seeds obtained by removing outer pulp by soaking in water. show early and uniform sprouting. The shade dried seeds are sown in perforated polythene bags consisting of equal parts of well decomposed farm yard manure, top soil and coarse sand. The size of the polythene bags may vary from 10 Χ 20cm to 25 Χ 40cm depending on the time kept in nurseries before field planting. Bigger plants (15-20months) establish better in the field.
    planting:
Spacing: 20’Χ20’(250 plants/ha) Temporary shade for 2-3 years is necessary. Artificial shade for newly established plants may be required during sunny seasons. Whenever possible ground cover crops such as leguminous sps, which do not compete with clove, should be established as a soil conservation measure.
How to grow cloves from seed
Clove seeds should be lightly scattered on the surface of a
    moist, rich
potting mix. do not bury the seeds ,they will germinate right on the soil
    surface. Choose
a soil with a high percentage of sand or clay, which will drain.
Place a seed on top of well-draining soil and cover it with plastic. To keep humidity levels high while the seed is sprouting, cover the soil with plastic wrap. You can also use a clear lid or clear plastic to retain the proper moisture and humidity. For germination, daytime temperatures should  remain steadily around 85 F.(30 C), with night time temperatures no lower than 60 F,( 15 C).
It is important to maintain these conditions until the seedlings are ready for transplanting. Clove tree seedlings shouldn't be transplanted for at least 6 month.
Keep the seedling out of direct sunlight and water it daily. Find a partially-shaded location for your seedling, where your clove plant will receive around 3-6 hours of daily sunlight.
Keep the soil dump but waterlogged. It may take up to 6 weeks for a seed to germinate.
Reduce your watering schedule to every other day if you notice that the soil is still damp after 24 hours.
Transfer a seedling to a 12 inches (30 cm) pot when it is 9 inches ( 23 cm ) tall. once the plant is 9 inches ( 23 cm)
    tall, you
can transplant it to a large
    pot. Do
not move the seedling before is tall
    enough. Clove
plants are very delicate and might not survive if you transplant them to
    soon. Let
the seedling's soil dry out for 24 hours to make easier to transfer the plant. The seed might need to grow up to 6 months before it can be transplanted.
