One unique promotional item offered in Germany is called a Filmprogramm. Normally with four pages printed on a thin paper, a program usually contains a synopsis, a cast list, and photos from the film.  Most Filmprogramme (film programs) are two colored and their release coincides with the film's release in Austria.  Because of WW2 and its aftermath, many USA films made in the late 1930's and 1940's were not released in Germany until later.
