Description
1963 Bonneville Nationals program is exceptionallytight & bright
, thanks to decades of dry, dark storage indoors. Thirty-two glossy, B&W inside pages still tightly bound to four red-colored covers, printed on heavyweight cover stock. Entries in all
car & bike classes
(including
Burt Munro
) listed with individual vehicle number, owner(s), hometown, engine type & displacement. Mug shots of Southern Calif. Timing Ass'n directors & Grant Piston Ring Company's few
200 Miles Per Hour Club
members, accompanied by respective average speeds (e.g., "
Mickey Thompson
, 363.48"). Story of how dry-lakes racers of the 1920s & '30s (led by
Hot Rod editor Wally Parks
) ultimately secured Utah's salt flats for their inaugural National Speed Trials in 1949.
No rips, labels, markings or cutouts. Only noticeable flaw is slightly-frayed spine at top of covers (thus my downgraded rating from VG to Good+).
Carefully packaged for travel, wrapped in plastic & sandwiched inside cardboard.
