Hare-tail (Lagurus ovatus, Lagurus ovate, hare-tail) is an elegant grass plant that produces a spike similar to a hare-tail.
These cute fuzzies are good for decorating flower beds, borders, making bouquets, and interesting crafts.
Lagurus is native to the Mediterranean coast, so it grows well on dry, stony soils. In a mild climate, it is able to please with its shaggy spikelets for about two years, but it will not survive the more severe winters of cold regions. As an annual plant, lagurus blooms the last two summer months, and in warm regions throws out spikelets in early May.
